Kandal Accident Kills Six

Kandal: In a horrific motor accident in Kampong Svay on Sunday six people were killed. The accident was caused when a Toyota Tundra driving at excessive speeds lost control and ploughed into group of motorcycles. It is being feared that the number could rise as many others were injured.

It was at 12:30 in the morning on Sunday when a Toyota Truck driving recklessly and at excessive speed collided with numerous motorcycles, leaving six dead. The dead have been identified as Ros Bunly, 22, Vath Phanith, 21, Prum Mesa, 17, Phon Sopheara, 21, and Bo Bros Vin, 19. One has yet to be named.

The carnage was caused by the truck traveling without due care, and it seems from eye witness reports the truck swerved and then hit four bikes. It was yet another incident where the driver failed to stop and offer assistance to the dying and the wounded, but fled the scene abandoning his vehicle.
